Our Weekend Getaway is designed for the group looking to escape the rigors of urban living and immerse themselves into the beauty of the snow covered Rockies for a long weekend. The group will fly from Alpine's Helicopter Base in Canmore, Alberta on Friday mornings and return to Canmore Sunday afternoon. For three days and two nights you will enjoy the company and cuisine of our guides as you explore the beautiful landscape right outside your door.

Your guides are qualified backcountry skiers and snowshoers with certification in wilderness first aid and avalanche awareness.

Assiniboine Weekend Getaway Itinerary:

Friday:
8AM meet for breakfast and a pre trip briefing in Canmore.
AM helicopter flight to Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park.
Move into Naiset Huts.
Lunch followed by a safety talk for traveling in winter avalanche terrain.
Avalanche Tranceiver training.
Ski or Snowshoe tour in area local to the cabins.
Dinner followed by cabin time with an optional star lit tour before bed.

Saturday:
Hot drinks and breakfast.
Thought for the day.
Day tour skis and snowshoes, lunch on the trails.
The plan for the day will depend upon the weather, snow conditions and the interest of the group. The snowshoers will look for the opportunity to make a grand circle taking in series of rocky and reed features that will take them to a lookout over Lake Magog and environs. Our ski group will take another route with the opportunity to make some powder turns on moderate slopes. All will return to the huts for some hot refreshments before dinner.

Sunday:
Hot drinks and breakfast.
Thought for the day.
We will do a final morning outing to get in a few more turns to soak up the morning alpine sunshine. This will be followed by lunch and an afernoon helicopter flight back to Canmore.

Cost: $395.00 plus $360.00 helicopter flight and GST.
